Reviewing and Approving UBC-BREB Research Ethics Applications

Find resources that clarify UBC Behavioural Research Ethics Board (BREB) review and approval processes. Guiding UBC-BREB reviews is a commitment to facilitate Indigenous led and partnered research. The BREB recognizes the distinctness of Indigenous groups, including First Nations, Métis, and Inuit in Canada and Indigenous Peoples around the world. The BREB uses the frameworks and guidance provided by OCAP®, the BC Declaration of the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (DRIPA), the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, as well as the TCPS 2 Chapter 9 to guide its reviews.

Please use the feedback form to get in touch or to comment on BREB resources. Please contact the owners of content linked from this site to request their permission to publish or repurpose their materials. For UBC-BREB created materials, please contact us here.
